The Colorado Dental Association Benefit Plan, Inc. is pleased to be the endorsed medical benefit plan of the Colorado Dental Association since 1982. The CDA Benefit Plan (CDABP) is a non-profit organization established to offer medical coverage to CDA member dentists, their employees and dependents.

The CDA Benefit Plan is available to CDA member dentists and their employees that work at least 20 hours a week. Spouses and qualified dependents may also be included on the coverage.

The flexibility and advantages of participating in the CDA Benefit Plan include:

  • Allows employers to offer their choice of up to three of the five non-medically underwritten plans to their employees, including one that qualifies for a Health Savings Account. This allows different participants in the office to elect the plan that is right for them. There is also the Outlook PPO Plan, a new medically underwritten plan that is available starting January 1, 2010. If an office selects this plan, then this would be the only plan option available to that office.
  • There is a 75% participation requirement for an office choosing the non-medically underwritten plans. This is based on 75% of the eligible employees in the office who do not have coverage on other plans. For the medically underwritten Outlook PPO Plan, there is a 50% participation requirement for the office.
  • Dentists who have been on the Plan for at least two years may also continue their coverage upon retirement as long as CDA membership is maintained.

The PPO network in Colorado is the ASO Select Network through Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Outside of Colorado, the PPO network is PHCS.
